Poem for the Day - Love and Lust

I was in love two nights ago
Now I found someone I lusted after
The one I love makes me feel warm
That I lust for makes me hot
I must have either one
Both cannot be achieved.

If I choose that whom I love
I would never be cold again
His love would be like a blanket
I would stay stuck with him
Like glue on paper
And be glad I did.

If I did choose lust
I would satisfy my body this feeling would die instantly
I’d rather not go for lust
Like a rat avoids a trap
And look before I leap.

They both linger in me
Lust and love
My heart desires one
And it is love
For it lasts a long time
Lust is but for a while.
