Christopher Columbus, a navigator, colonizer and explorer
completed four voyages and discovered places of the world. He achieved a lot
during his life time; Columbus made efforts to
establish permanent settlements on the Hispaniola Islands;
he initiated Spanish colonization, he discovered major islands and helped the
spread of Christian religion.
