The woman had
been hiding it a long time; last Christmas was different. Her other man was
coming to town; she had to see him without her husband’s knowledge. The other
man came every Christmas and the Christmas affair had been going on for years.
But last Christmas, her husband received a phone call that was not meant for him,
it was the confirmation of a hotel booking. He had inquired who the message was
meant for and concealed his amusement. He thought his wife was planning a
surprise for him. The surprise never came and he appeared at the hotel
uninvited to discover the Christmas affair.
