Colombian peace activist, Farlis Calle at the age of fifteen
rose up to promote peace after her country’s dreadful experience of civil war.
Farlis Calle was provoked by the volume of deaths of
children, the beheading of friends as she took a stand while as Council
President of her school. She provided solutions of peace through presentations
along with her classmates. This move was recognized even by UNICEF. Her act has
inspired youths all over the world that they too can make a difference.
“How can we learn to
be peaceful if our teachers do not help us understand what it means? No one
here has ever lived in peace. We have been fighting from the time we were
born”. - Farlis Calle
Hmmmm very brave young lady.
