The mistakes she had made
Cost her sanity
The time she had bade
The little lad inhumanity
She was sure then
The best decisions had been made
Not until when
When she began to fade
Thoughts of her lad
Made her shiver and wail.
Into the arms of his dad
He had made sail
She should have fought for him
Strength was against her
Life was so dim
Peace was but so far
‘twas a mistake never to forget
An action irrevocable
She would someday budget
To sacrifice her freedom for a lad irreplaceable.
